Two weeks ago, my school danced at the Dragon Boat Festival. I have done 3 shows previous to this one, but they have been at the Metro Theatre. It is very different dancing at a theatre and at a festival. At the theatre, sure the surroundings are more impressive but when you actually get out on stage, you can’t see the audience. You can feel their presence and you can see their vague outlines. But you just pretend they aren’t there. At a festival… you can see them. Their eyes. Looking at you. Makes your legs extra wobbly.
The stage was super small. I was super wobbly. And hungover. Super hungover. When we went into our spins, I almost fell off the stage. I caught it just on the edge. Which is awesome, because falling off would have been super embarrassing.

There is the North Park Festival this weekend and I’m in THREE dances. Ahhhh! Too much to remember. I hope my body will just remember how to do the dances because my brain wants to go on vacation.
